We typically submit claims based on a set schedule, with submissions on the day before the last business day of each month. However, we work with each district to customize this schedule to meet their specific needs.
6 months or 180 days
Everything requires a referral for Medicaid billing, including hearing and vision screenings. The referral must be signed by the student’s actual physician and include a wellness check within the past 12 months. Medicaid does not cover mass screenings.
Georgia’s expanded Medicaid opportunities with the implementation of Open Care, has opened the door for districts to benefit from additional nursing reimbursements when they participate.

Free Care Nursing Services Expansion in Georgia
Georgia’s Free Care Nursing Services program is now active and provides local education agencies and school districts the opportunity to be reimbursed for nursing services. This program covers services provided under Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs), as well as other medical plans of care when medical necessity is established.

Licensed Registered Nurses (RN) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN). Ensure your nurses are listed on your SPL to begin billing.
